Operations & Business Manager


A brand-new, luxury private clinic in West Yorkshire is now looking for an Operations & Business Manager to join the team, and make this exciting new venture a success. The clinic will provide a range of aesthetic treatments, and minor surgical procedures in its on-site theatre.

Your role


As part of the senior management team, you will create and implement the clinic’s strategic plan to drive revenue and to provide a seamless experience for patients. You will be responsible for the smooth running of the clinic, managing staff and operational procedures to ensure efficiency and CQC compliance. You will also use your commercial acumen to ensure business growth.

Business development & financial management:

  • You will help identify business development opportunities, investigating possible new services and looking at how existing services could be developed to maximise patient activity. You will also assist with clinic marketing, helping to devise promotional strategies.
  • You will set and monitor clinic targets, and will drive the revenue stream by ensuring that team and clinic goals are met or exceeded.
  • You will have P&L accountability and will plan and manage clinic budgets, and will ensure that projects are delivered on time and on budget.

Operational management:

  • You will ensure that the clinic environment, facilities, and services all meet regulatory guidelines and company protocols. You will ensure that a robust governance framework is in place, and that protocols are adhered to by all staff members. You will be responsible for health and safety compliance, and for meeting CQC regulations.
  • Managing processes, you will assess practices and performance and ensure that staff, facilities and equipment are being utilised efficiently, implementing new methods where necessary.
  • You will ensure that there is an efficient system in place to record and deal with patient complaints and clinic incidents, and will deal with patient complaints when escalation to senior management is required.

Staff management:

  • You will be responsible for assessing the staffing needs of the clinic, and you will oversee the hiring and training of all new staff members.
  • You will manage staff performance and conduct reviews and appraisals, identifying areas for improvement and training needs, and mediating and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • As an inspirational leader, you will help improve staff performance by supporting, coaching and motivating your team to deliver excellence in customer service, and to meet financial targets.
  • You will ensure that clinic departments communicate effectively and maintain good working relationships, so that services run smoothly, and a seamless patient journey can be delivered.

Skills and experience required

You must have experience of managing teams and facilities in a target-driven environment, in a private healthcare setting. You will have knowledge of the CQC and clinical standards.

You will need to have commercial awareness and be able to drive sales, but you must also have integrity and the desire to deliver an excellent patient experience.

You will be an inspiring leader and a team player, an effective communicator and organiser, and a strategic thinker. You will be driven to succeed and have the positivity and determination to deal with difficulties.
