Jobseeker FAQs

Do you email job alerts to me so I don't have to keep checking your website?

Yes. If you are looking for a new job you can register for email alerts in the ‘Looking for Work’ section of our website. You will then be emailed as we add the new job adverts onto our website that fit the your requirements.

Do you just deal with clinical positions?

No, we help anyone that works with the Aesthetic Medicine and Cosmetic Surgery sectors. That includes receptionists, managers, sales and marketing, and administrative staff.

How do I get into Aesthetic Nursing?

There are several career options for aesthetic nursing staff looking to work within Aesthetics and Cosmetic Surgery.

Clinic /Ward Nurses in Private Hospitals and Clinics -  these roles generally involve pre and post treatment care, woundcare and venepuncture. You don’t need experience within a Cosmetic Surgery environment but it would be an advantage if you’ve worked in a Surgical capacity.

Theatre Nurses – there is a shortage of good candidates with Theatre experience and if you are working in the NHS and looking for a move into Cosmetic Surgery these skills are often in demand.

Non-surgical treatments – this covers Aesthetic Nursing Staff such as Nurse Injectors/Prescribers. Many nurses want to administer injectables and other treatments such as laser hair removal, sclerotherapy, medical needling etc. There is no defined career path for these types of roles. Clinics quite rightly want nurses with significant experience in providing these treatments before they will offer employment. Undertaking a 2 day training course does NOT provide enough experience to guarantee employment.  You need to build up your experience by either developing your own client base or, ideally, shadowing or being mentored by a clinician who will educate you in these treatments.

How do I register with ARC?

Click on the Looking for Work tab, then Register Your CV and fill out the form on that page. Alternatively call our cosmetic surgery recruitment agency on 01273 823 571 if you want to chat to a consultant before registering.

I'm a nurse injector without the V300 qualification. Are there still job opportunities for me?

Yes. There is still a demand for nurses who can’t prescribe but have good experience in administering non-surgical treatments other than POM’s. Don’t despair, send us your CV!

I'm looking for a new job. Is there a charge to use your services?

No. It is a totally free service for jobseekers.

There isn't a particular job on the website that I want to apply for, shall I register my CV anyway?

Yes ! Send your CV to us and we will contact you to find out exactly what you are looking for. We’ll then call you once the right role comes in. If we don’t know about you, then we won’t be able to contact you! We won’t send your CV to employers without speaking to you first.

What qualifications do I need to become a Laser Therapist / Medical Aesthetician?

You will need a minimum of NVQ 3 in Beauty Therapy (or equivalent – CITBAC, CIDESCO, BTEC, ITEC etc). Ideally you should have 2-3 years experience practising as a Beauty Therapist. The majority of employers look for those already experienced in the use of Laser / IPL devices, microdermabrasion and skin peels although occasionally they will offer the opportunity of in house training.
